African Hut Model

This is a modeling-clay model I made of an archetypal African rural hut. I didn’t have a specific culture in mind when making it, but what I recall from my research is that cylindrical mud huts with conical roofs like this are most common in Africa’s savanna or grassland regions. Rainforest cultures on the other hand seem to prefer rectangular houses with sloped roofs and desert cultures of course gravitate toward something like the mud-brick “pueblo” look with flat roofs (with the famous Sudano-Sahelian architectural style of West Africa being a unique variation of that theme).
