A bored princess from the Chola dynasty of medieval southern India rests on the railing of the ship escorting her across the Indian Ocean. At the height of their power in the eleventh century AD, Chola influence reached as far east as the Malay peninsula and the Indonesian isles, so that may be where she’s headed.
