Directions

While out scouting on behalf of their Pharaoh’s military campaign in Palestine, these Egyptian scouts have consulted one of the local, late-surviving Neanderthals for directions through the desert.

This is of course an illustration of alternate history, but Neanderthals are known to have ranged into the Levant during the ice age. Imagine if relict populations of Neanderthals were to survive into the Bronze Age so they could witness the rise and fall of the human empires!
