Fantomah, Daughter of the Pharaohs

This is my artistic reinterpretation of a character from the 1940s Golden Age of Comics named Fantomah, Daughter of the Pharaohs. She’s one the more unusual examples of the “jungle girl” archetype popular during the era in that she is of ancient Egyptian (or Kemetic) heritage and hails from a city called Khefra that is situated deep in equatorial Africa’s jungles. I have to say the idea of an Egyptian variation of the jungle girl theme is quite a rare novelty in the comic book annals.

With this piece, I wanted to make the rendering look like something from the Golden Age of comics, hence the use of black (with some hatching) for the shading.
