This is my portrait of Athena, the ancient Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare. She makes an appearance in my novel Priestess of the Lost Colony, wherein she aids the main antagonists by spying on our heroes in owl form. In Greek literature such as the Odyssey, she was repeatedly described as having gray eyes, which I interpreted here as a luminous silver to give her that supernatural quality.
