In the bush of what will someday become northeastern Angola, the huntress Luwi and her hyena companions are attacking a Confederate expedition from the American South. Time to kick some gray-coated slaver butt!
The story behind this illustration is that the Confederates are looking for an enchanted nkisi (idol-like sculpture) that they believe will grant them the power to win the Civil War, take over the US, and enslave all of Africa. It’s up to Luwi and her people to stop them, but what the Confederates don’t anticipate is that the ancient sorcerer whose spirit lies within the nkisi has a mind, and an agenda, of his own…
