Meet Yasmina bint Faruq, the antagonist from my short story Scorpions of the Sea. Born to the Sheikh of al-Mukha on the coast of the Himyarite kingdom in southern Arabia, Yasmina fled to the high seas to escape an arranged marriage, eventually slashing her way to the leadership of a piratical army known as the Scorpions of the Sea. It is up to our heroine Nensela, the Admiral of Kush, to bring a stop to Yasmina’s reign of terror.
