Some evidence uncovered from digging around the game files indicates that this was initially intended to be a larger cousin of the Velociraptor, which may explain why it looks so little like the real Allosaurus, being a bit smaller and lacking the distinctive hornlets in front of the eyes. Nonetheless, as the most abundant carnivore in the games’ setting, Allosaurus would prove to be a persistent thorn in the players’ side, as it could ambush them even if they were hunting another dinosaur species entirely.
