This is my take on the iconic and oft-parodied “March of Progress” illustration depicting human evolution. You might have noticed that most replications of this sequence use male subjects to represent each species (with a man of European descent representing modern humanity), so I thought it only fair to show the other, female half of this evolutionary journey.
From left to right, the species shown are Australopithecus afarensis, Homo habilis, Homo erectus, and Homo sapiens (our species).
