This cute little sculpture I made with my modeling clay depicts a cavalryman from ancient Numidia, a civilization in northwestern Africa. His shield is supposed to be cut from elephant hide, as African elephants used to roam the region before the Roman Empire wiped them out through overexploiting their population.
