A commissioned artwork of a cave hyena (Crocuta spelaea, or perhaps Crocuta crocuta spelaea) resting in, well, a cave. These animals are thought to have either been the same species as modern spotted hyenas (Crocuta crocuta) in Africa or a related species, but they grew significantly larger than spotted hyenas do today.
