This is my depiction in modeling clay of a Denisovan man (Homo longi). If you don’t know who the Denisovans were, they would have been a sibling lineage of hominin to the Neanderthals who lived further east in Asia. They too would have contributed a smidgen of ancestry to some modern human populations, with Aboriginal Australian and Melanesian people harboring the highest proportion at around two percent.
